"The Volare takes inspiration from the Unicanitor design, with aggressive updates. The style is distinctly luxurious, with small logo pins, and top-quality leather finishes. The saddle provides all-purpose comfort based on the proven shapes of Unicanitor."
"The Volare SLX is essentialy an aggressive update of the Unicanitor molds. It was put into production around the same time as the Alberto Meda designed Maestro, when Cinelli, still very much considered a saddle brand thanks to the fame of the Unicanitor, attempted to respond to the growth in the popularity of saddles by other specialized manufacturers such a s San Marco's Concor.
Its style, like that of the Maestro, was distinctly heavy on luxurious flourishes, small gold logo pins, and top-quality leather finishes. With an all-purpose comfort based on the proven shapes of the Unicanitor, it was widely used at highest level, most notably by Hans-Henrik Oersted in his hour record and by Andy Hampsten during his historic ride on Passo del Gavia in the Giro of 1988."
